I've a question regarding fingerprints

All my green card processing so far (including I140 notice,140 approval notice,485 Receipt notice, EAD, last two visa extensions ) have used "A"
as my first name and "B" as my last name.

But in my SSN , my first name is considered as "AB"
which is my exact name and my last name is considered as "CD"which is my father's name.

I would like to know what name should I give for my fingerprints particularly in the column that asks anyother last name previously used.Should you have any idea, Please share it with me.
Any suggestion is highly appreciated.
 
In my wife's case, it was her maiden name.

This is what happened when I went to get SSN card for my wife. When they (SS Administrative office) entered my wife's name in their computer, they got access to some immigration documents. The lady asked my wife how she wanted her name on the card. With/without middle name, maiden/married name...blabla.

So she opted for:
First name - same as before
Middle Name - Her maiden name
Last Name - Married name

This way in the future there won't be any confusion of missing documents, wrong name, checking maiden name and so on.

Since the name placement on the SSN is not as serious as the GC, be consistent with the immigration documents (ignore the SSN for now).

Unless you have a married name that you have used before, leave the other names used space blank.
 
What I suggest is to maintain one last name (the correct one i.e Surname) every where. When I first time applied, my middle name was put as last name and had no problem. But after few years when I am trying to get the license in other state, they didn't agree and asked to match the records, INS(where my surname is actual surname) vs SSN. SO I went to the SSN office and changed the last name. They issued new card.
Off course, I am not sure that change is causing any issue on my case, as my 485 is still pending.

When ever there is a back ground check (not part of GC), I am getting "other last name found" against my SSN. But I belive that won't be a matter.

If any of you have any insight whether it causes any issues, please post your opinions and experiences.
