Previous I-94 Copies

My Lawyer asked for all copies of previous I-94's. I have only the latest one.

Do we have to keep all copies of pervious I-94's. It it required for I-485 or EAD or AP? Please reply

you need to fill-in all, I-94 numbers, dates of entry and ports of entry
In case you have renewed/extened your H1, I-94 number remains the same.
I do not remember, at entry, the passport page will be filled in with this I-94 number. Any way check your passport pages

Confusing...

If you leave country and come back you get new I 94 number.
In case of extension of Visa you get same I 94 number.
I don't think your lawyer is reffering old I 94 before your last entry.
Normal practice is to staple all I 94 in your pasport.
That's what we are supposed to give.

They're all stamped in your passport ! :)
NO - not always.

Even if stamped, the red stamp at PoE just has the date of entry and expiration.
It never has the I-94 number :(
I-94 number is on the top of the card and in the extension I-94 that comes with H1 extension.

Also this stamp in PP is not always done - Out of all my trips, 1 or 2 did NOT have this stamp !

Awww ... maybe ...
but sometime lawyers want all previous I-94 ( from previous trips ) to prove that you were in status all the time.

They usually don't go back all the way -- only something like all I-94 for the last 2 or 3 yrs. If u didn't travel during that time, then u are lucky - the current I94+extensions would be all that's needed.

jambalakadi: - check with the attorneys why they want this -- if its just to prove date of entry, you can make do with the PP stamp/boarding card stubs etc.

Previous I 94 copies

In our case, we presented a table outlining all the details of Entry / Exit from the United States. The details included dates of entry / exit, Origination / Destination points, Passport pages with stamps of orginating / entering countries immigration authorities (especially given the lack of proof of exit from the US);

This was accepted in our case and this did not become an issue.

Good luck.

That should be sufficient enough proof that you entered the country legally.
If just the last I-94 can not be used to prove that you've never been out of status then their system must be very very very FLAWED.

Bet we all know it ! :D :D

Thank you very much guys for all your Input. My lawyer asked me just to make sure he has all documents. I got passport stamped every time I leave or enter USA. I wil search for I-94's in copies of H1B Packets. As I remember I gave I-94s back to immigration officers when I departed US and I always got NEw I-94 when I entered US.
