Previous H1B + Lost documents

I have been here on H1B before and was in that status for 3 years. I then joined Masters program and was in F1 status for 2 years. I just graduated and would now like to apply again for H1B visa. I have the following questions:

1. How many years of H1 are left for me? ( i was not out of country for more than one year but I was on a different visa status)
2. Do I come under the H1B cap of 65,000? ( my lawyer says that I do not come under the cap)
3. I have lost the previous H1B documents ( the approval notice etc). Would this affect my getting a H1 and at a later stage, its stamping ? Would this affect the application for green card in any way?

if u have not spent a year abroad then ur prev 3 yrs will count towards the six years. so u have 3 yrs left.

since you were counted against the cap in the last six yrs, you will not be counted against cap this year

its always better to have the documents available to show continued legal presence, try contacting prev co./attorney to get copies.
