Previous departure dates unknown. Important?

 I have received DV lottery form DS-230 part 1. Is it important to have exact departure dates from previous visits to the US? I know when I arrived and approximately when I left (within two weeks) but exact dates were not stamped in passport upon departure from US and arrival in my home country. Do not have copies of previous travel details from travel agent.

It is not possible that the dates of departure or arrival are not stamped in passport.

You will definitely find the arrival date in your home country stamped in your passport.Adjust the departure date from US accordingly.

I am bringing up this old thread as I am in the exact same situation as the original poster.

In Australia, if you are a resident, your passport is not stamped on return to Australia and upon leaving the USA, it isn't stamped with a date either.

I have travelled so much back and forth and around the world it is impossible to know all my return dates - any advice?

I think you should put approximate date. If you did not exceed your allowable stay under visa, you should be fine. If you are asked about it (which I doubt), you can explain the situation to consular officer. Or maybe you can explain the situation and say dates are approximate in a statement attached to the application itself.
