Previous denial of B2 visa will effet my DV case ???

I applied US tourist visa (B2) last year after I won DV lottery. But,I was rejected at that time ! The consular officer asked me some questions and gave me a white paper that I'm not qualify.I threw that paper at my home.I don't know what is the reason ? Maybe, the consular think that I will not come back to my country after my visit. Now,I'm worry that that case will effect my DV case ??? At that time, the consular officer asked me some questions and everything was fine except about my current work.He asked me that how long I have been worked there.I answered that I worked there about 2 years. He called to my company to ask about that and actually I've already leaved my job at that time about one or two months.I think I stupidly made mistake that I filled the name of my company which I've already leaved. At that time I was looking for a new job in order to get better salary. But,I was actually worked there about 2 years. Is that mean I made misrepresentation ??? I heard that misrepresentation or show fake documents will disqualify for any applicant who apply any kind of US visa and ban permanently to enter USA !!!

I don't know what is my situation !!! Do you have any opinions ??? Please tell me !!!
I asked US embassy about that and a lady answered me that I should explain it to the consular officer when I go to the DV interview. She do not answer me that I will not qualify to enter USA !

What should I do ??? Am I in the serious problems ???

B2 visa has a stricter requirements than DV. When you applied for a B2 visa, you need to have some kind of job in your home country at the time of the interview. You can't be unemployed and going to the U.S under the B2 visa, unless you're still supported by your parents. Having a job will show that you have some kind of tie to your home country and you will have no intention to stay in the U.S Permanently. This is why you got denied for a B2 visa.

No one knows what the Consular interpret your visa denial as. Did you tell the Consular that you were unemployed and not working at the place anymore? or did you said to them that you're still working there (even though you're not work there anymore)? If they denied the B2 visa because they think you lied to them , you might have a problem the next time you face the consular again for the DV interview. But if they just denied the B2 visa because you didn't have a job at the time of the interview, I think you should have no problem at the DV interview.

They surely will have the information in their database that you have applied a visa before and got denied but no one, except the Consular, will know the reason for denial.

Just relax for now. Don't think about it. There is nothing you can do about it anymore. Concentrate on getting all the paperwork ready for the DV interview and go on with the DV interview as schedule.

Good luck :)

Thanks for your reply ! I think I will be in problem about that because I stupidly made mistake. What should I do ? Give me some advices ! If they think I lied to them, then I will disqualify for any kind of visa, isn't it ???

Another question is that how to know that I'm permanently ban to enter USA or not because of misrepresentation ? Can I check about that ?

There is NOTHING you can do. No one can tell you what's the reason the Consular denied your B2 visa.

The only advice I can give you is just go forward with the DV interview and hope for the best.

You'll know when you apply for a visa at the U.S Consulate/Embassy.

It is not recommended that you apply for a non-immigrant visa like B2 when your DV interview is next month. At this time the U.S Embassy should already have all your DV information and paperwork from the KCC.

It is your choice if you want to apply for a B2 visa but I would think it will get denied again once they see that you're just a month away from your DV interview and the possibility of getting an immigrant visa. You can't be applying for a non-immigrant visa while you're applying immigrant visa. They have an opposite immigrant intent.

Ok !!! I know what you mean !!! So,all I must do is prepare my best for the interview and pray to the god !!! Ha...Ha... :)

Maybe I'm thinking too much !!! I just want to know that I'm in the serious problem or not because of the previous B2 visa denial and also because of my stupid mistake.

Anyway, thank you very much !!! Gerindo
It's not the end of the world that if I can't get US immigrant visa.I will live in my home country.I have everything what I want now in my home country. For example, house, car etc.I think the americans are making too much restrictions to the people who want to immigrate to their country.I'm sick about that !!!

I just want to study in US with cheap school fee because if I have green card, the school fee is cheaper than the international students. And I want to earn better salary in US than in my home country.Actually,I live quite well in my home country !

Trust me..I have been in your situation couple of months ago. I know you must be nervous because of the DV interview next month and your mind is starting to imagine things that can go wrong with the interview, including possibilities that the visa will get denied.

Just relax and don't worry too much. You have to be willing to accept any outcome from the interview. There is no point of worrying something that is already in the past and something that you can't control.

Now, all you can do is prepare all the documents needed for the interview and prepare your mind. Be confident that you will pass the interview and get that visa...and hope to see you in the U.S ;)
