Hi All,

My green card labor certification is in initial stages.
We are done with one round of newspaper ad and Internet ad.
Now we need to post ad in our company bulletin board.
For this we need to mention the DOL's prevailing wages which is
greater than (around 12K) my salary.

My attorney told we could make use of salary survey (like Watson Wyatt, Radford, etc.,) and he is asking me to buy the survey which is very costly (around $1000=00 and more) and my company do not want to buy it.

Please tell me what shall I do. What are my choices here?
Go head and buy the survey or do you people suggest any other thing?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Murthy

Change your lawyer - immediately or else he will ask you to pay for his grocery very soon.

These parasites create trouble later by not telling your case details.

Thanks for your reply.

Do you suggest any good attorney?
I have already payed my current attroney some amount (few 100 dollars).

Your peace of mind and timely processing of GC is worth more then those dollors. For Attorney - you will have to shop around and check with your friends for their approach for cases.

Your Ad is already placed - so you will not have to redo it - I guess. Also try to get someone who is familiar with evaluation of your academic background - so that educational evaluation and equivalence proof is easy.

If new lawyer is adamant on new set of ad - just ask him/her to include this effort along with new one - it will make your case stronger.

I agree with you. Peace of mind and time is more important that few dollars.

I did not understand what do you mean by educational evaluation and equivalence proof .

I have bachelors of Engineering and 8 years of experience.

The LC Ad is placed to show what is the requirement in American terms. Although you have a formal 16 years of degree you may be asked to show that your educational qualifications matches to that of equivalent American Degree(sometimes people do face it.).

That is where these points will play their role. I guess it should not be a problem for you - but I would suggest play it safe if you can.
