Hi every LC applicant,

How do you guys view the importance of your salary beating the prevailing wage? I haven't started the LC process, but I'm keen to know whether I would have problems with SESA and DOL.. Please enlighten me with your thoughts and/or experiences.

In my field, my salary is about 10k higher than salary level I but 15k lower than level II, as published in the DOL wage library. I have a little more than two years of industrial experience with a Master's degree.. I don't know which level I fall into..

Any input will be greatly appreciated!

yann - u should be fine

You can check the description of level i and II jobs on the DOL website. Try to see where your job level is - I would imagine you should be Level I, in which case your salary meets the prevailing wage.

BTW EB2/EB3 classification is a INS classification, and is not so much a reflection of your qualifications as it is of the job description that the DOL approved.

good luck.

thanks jrinny

Thank you! I'm an industrial engineer in NJ.. The level I description doesn't usually involve a master's degree and that's why I'm concerned..

Feeling a lot of squeeze these days because of the slow move the NJ sesa is taking. Can't help but worry.. :)
