prerequisites before N-400

I just compiled a list of things to do based on advice given by others and my understanding of the instructions. Please let me know if I missed anything.

1.) Federal tax transcripts for 5 years returns

2.) State Tax transcripts for 5 years returns from all states I lived in

4.) Selective service letter stating I was not required to enroll for it

5.) Instead of Birth certificate, get 2 affidavits and a letter from muncipality stating they do not have my birth record

6.) Receipts stating that I paid off my traffic tickets

7.) photos

8. 5 yrs residency since you got GC (or 5 yrs - 90 days) or 3 yrs based married with the same USC

10. if you had previous marriage, bring the previous marriage license and the document to show how the previous marriage ended

btw, did you have the website or links to get the tax transcripts for state?

I think you need tax transcripts only if you have made trips which lasted more that 6 months during last 5 years. Please correct me if I am wrong. While filing N400 based on GC, I submitted only following things.

1. N-400 form dully filled.
2. Check for $390 (A# written back on check)
3. 2 colour photos (Name and A# written on back with pencil)
4. photocopies of front and back side of Green Card.

I was out of USA only once for few days. As per instrcutions for N400, these documents are suffucient if you do not have any complications in your case.

you do not have to send the tax transcripts with your n400 if you file it based of 5 yrs residency. 3yrs based on marriage requires it.

however, during the interview, INS has right to ask you to proof you have filed income tax in previous years.

As regards to your question about any website for state tax transcripts, I am not aware of any.
I am planning on calling up the tax office in all the states I have lived in the past 5 years and request for a transcript.
