Hi
I am preparing a list of goods to follow and had a few questions. Will be grateful if someone can provide help on them
a) For how long is the list valid eg. if I land now and move to Canada two years later - can I still carry the items into canada
b) My current plan is to land into canada ; stay there for a week;and then go to India. I will be carrying a few electronic items(microwave) to India. My problem is :
if I include them in the personal goods list - then will I be restricted in taking them out of Canada within 1 week after landing.
On the other hand, if I don't include them - then I may be required to explain the reason for not doing it
c) I am planning to purchase some electronic items from US (eg. new laptop computer). Can I just include a description of the laptop computer (with the make) without the serial number and later purchase it and then take it
Thanks

where do you have an official word on the time period of the validity for the "goods to follow" list? from where do you know that it is valid for 5 years?

PR card issue?

Effective 01/01/2004 you cannot travell outside Canada and return back without a PR card. Find out how long is it taking to get the PR card after you land then you can plan ur trip to India. I am not sure if u can get the card in 1 week.

PR card will be mailed to a friend's address

Current plan is to get the PR card mailed to friend in Canada. Others seem to be doing the same thing. Hope this is ok.
Please let me know if there are any pitfalls
Thanks
