I had an AOS interview on sep 9th i am trying to collect all the documents which are mentioned in the Interview Letter.

1)I had a Joint Sponsor so should i have to take the Joint Sponsors Original Tax Papers of Last 3 yrs to the interview.

2)and the Interview Letter said we have to bring 'All documentation establishing your eligibility for Lawful Permanent Resident status.'.... what does this mean, what is the documentation we have to take...?

3)I had a step son,he is the son of my wife from previous relation... do we have to take the birth certificate and custody papers of him or no.

4)i had 4 photo albums can i take the albums or else i have to take the photo copies of pictures.

I really appreciate the answers and suggestions.
thanks

You should take any and/or all documentation which is going to strengthen your case for a green card in the eyes of USCIS via the Immigration Officer (IO). Yes, you can bring those tax documentation of your co-sponsor. This is what you take to the interview as well: any joint documentation bearing both you and your spouses name, like: health, car, life and home owners insurance (documentation dictated by circumstance: live in an apartment, no need for home owners insurance), car title, bank statements (more statements covering a long period, the better), credit card, utilities (gas, electric, water, cable, cellphone, home phone)
Home Contract copy; Rental copy; lease copy; ,Babies - Bring copies of birth certificates. Driver's License (both must have same address to be any good).

You can also bring your adoption paperwork for you stepchild. You petitioner's birth certificate, US passport.

me and my wife are living at my mother in laws house so we have dont have any rental, lease or house documents and also we dont have the utility bills since my mother in law will take care of all that bills.all we have under our name is phone bill, bank statements, internet bill, drivers licenses having same address.
My wife is pregnant so we are taking the ultra sound report and the proof of pregnancy.

I have my interview the day afters yours.

We are bringing
I have 2 years of Joint bank account statements.
I have our car insurance policy with both our names
I have her last 2 years of taxes which we filed jointly.
Marriage Certificate
We have credit cards statements under both our names.
High School diplomas showing we attended same high school.

High School Pictures (we were high school sweethearts and dated 5 years before we got married)
We have pictures of 3 proms together and several other dances, Wedding pictures

Copy of the packet we sent in.

Copies of all documents im bringing (incase the interviewer needs them)

Lastly just make sure you go some questions how u met and all that so you dont have 2 different stories. Example When asked how we met I answered "We met thru her sister who was my friend. She answered more specific "We met at a skateboarding contest" Both are true as I invited her and her sister to the contest and that is when I met her.

In my view, you have very good evidence for the interview. None more important than the little baby in the oven, plus you just need to have a good presentation. Meaning, it is important to be legitimate, I don't think the ultra sound information is necessary in my opinion, falls under TMI (too much information). You were high school sweethearts here in Uncle Sam or home country?

interview in 10 days...do we lack documentation..

Hello All,

We need help.. I have come from india on 29th june 2010.

1) my husband stays with his brother and hence cannot provide joint house lease.

2) Utility bills like internet and electricity are in the name of his brother, so cant get those !!

3) I dont drive yet, so my husband said he cannot put me on auto insurance.

What we have so far:
===============

1. shared joint accounts, both checking and savings.

2. he has asked his employer to put me onto his medical insurance, ( but card had my name misspelled so they will be issing new one, so i dont have it handy right now).. we might be able to take some softcopy printout saying I am on his medical benefits.

3. debit card for myself.

4. applied for secured credit card for myself..not received yet.

5. Wedding albums

FYI: I do have an SSN, as I had worked in USA for 2 years in 2001-2002. I also have expired US Driving License.

Please suggest what best can we do?[/B]...I am pretty nervous...
Regards,
mg

Lease agreement from brother?

Hello,

Thanks for your replies.

Since we stay with my husband's brother, do u think we should get a lease agreement signed by my brother-in-law , with both of us signatures?

it will indicate a shared lease right?

regards,
mg

u can prepare a bona-fide letter form ur brother in law stating that u guys are living together in his home and also mention the living conditions and lill description and i guess it will be enough for proof of common residence if u dont have the lease papers...i did the same thing any ways...
