Prep for interview

Hi all-

I was wondering if anyone has any links to webpages that offer advice on interview prep? I heard that this website has some but I couldnt find it. I want to make sure that I am very prepared and would appreciate any links or advice/tips.

My husband and I are living together but we are still in college and do not pay rent or have many bills. I am trying to think of other possible sources for evidence. Any tips on that?

Thanks!

Hi Switch11,

Well as part of the interview the proof like photographs of two of you'll together and also as group with friends would do all the speaking for you. That's what they are looking for as well.Make sure your IDs have the same address.

Proof could be a lease which shows joint tenancy of a common residence. Also documents showing co-mingling of financial resources.

good luck!

Having a lot of photos is important for the interview. Our interviewing officer spent a good amount of time revieiwng the photo album my wife did.

Also, you mention that both of you are students, try to get proof of enrollment from your registrar's office. This will show that you are students. If the immigrant is still on F-1 status bring the latest and all I-20 that they have. If either of you are employed, try to get some documentation from your employer, like either a letter/contract or a couple of the latest paystubs. You mentioned that you are not paying rent, so you might want to get a letter from the owner of the location you are staying at saying both of you are staying there, and how long.

When my wife and I went to our inteview about a year-and-a-half ago the best advice that we got is to be prepared. Think of any question even if you don't think it is relavant, and know the documtation you will use to support your answer or how you will respond. I actually created a two-inch binder with copies of all the documenation, including copies of the application forms, we sent with the application and any additional documents we collected along the way. We brough this binder to our interview, and the IO was suprised on how prepared we where for this.
