Premium processing or regular?

Hello Everyone,

My wife is about to file for labor under PERM. Can anyone tell me how long will it take for her to get approval?
After that I guess she has to file for I-140. Is premium processing a good idea? What are disadvantages for filing I-140 under premium processing?
Also please provide me any suggestion or points which we have to be careful while filing? What is BEC or PBEC as I have read lot of mess about them in this forum.

PERM labor certification approval times vary on per case basis, however you can estimate the average processing time by visiting the PERM Labor Certification forums. There are 2 PERM processing centers: Atlanta and Chicago. You needn't worry about Backlog Elimination Centers as your case will not be processed by them.

At the moment, I-140 premium processing (PP) is under temporary suspension. If your priority date is not current apparently there is nothing much you can gain by filing PP. However, under the same situation if you need H-1B extension beyond 6 years an approved I-140 will fetch you 3 years extenstion of H-1B. So a PP in this case is useful. There are other situations where this maybe useful like availing AC-21 for changing jobs - but this requires I-485 filing.

My wife is in her first year of H-1b so she has enough time. I have one more question for you related to LC.
My wife have done her B.SC (3 years) and M.Sc part-1(1 year) in same field and her evaluation says its equivalent to BS from any accrediated university in US. Evaluation are from WES and MEI Services. Do she have to worry about anything or does she need any other documents like Expert's Letter or opinion letter in addition?
Her work experience is about 6 months.
Any suggestion are welcome.

I cannot comment on the educational evaluation, but it is safer to process your wife's GC process in EB3 category. This will be necesary during I-140 stage. Please read this thread for details.
