Premium processing of I 140

As of today, I-140 premium processing is not available. In fact, as per Sheel Murthy's article from about 2 months back, BCIS does not even plan to have premium processing of I-140.

Question : Would you recommend premium processing for I-140 on concurrent filing of I-140 and I-485? What is the benefit?
Answer : To date, the INS does not allow premium processing of I-140s, so save your $1000 premium fee, for now. If INS allows it, then it depends on your circumstances if you need or desire to process the case in an expedited manner.

Question : When is premium processing for I-140 starting?
Answer : The INS has stated that they are not in a position to be able to process I-140 cases within 15 days with the new security clearance requirements, etc. Even the regular H1B processing, which used to take about 2 months is now taking about 5 to 6 months or longer! The INS does not want to have to return the $1,000 premium processing fee, so they want to wait until their backlogs reduce before agreeing to take on I-140 premium cases.
