Dear all,

I'm new to all this so kindly help me out, my girlfriend just received her landing papers for canada and we are planning to get married if i go to canada on a visit visa and we marry over there so how much time will it tae for me to get prc and in between the process of getting my immigration can i work and study, or leave canada and come back or i have to stay there till i get my immigration. a sugesstion will be highly appreciated

Has your girlfriend landed in Canada as a PR?

If your girlfriend has only received her PR visa and landing papers then she should go to Canada and complete the landing procedure to become a PR first. Please DO NOT get married before she lands in Canada as a PR.

If you get married in Canada and she sponsors you it will take approx 8-9 months to complete the process.

Please note that if you live in Canada during the process (i.e. if you can get the visitor visa) you can not work and you will not get medical insurance.
 
Dear thanks alot for the reply, what i understand after reading your reply is that if i get married in canada and she sponsers me as spouse i canot work and study untill i get my status which is prc. am i right?
I am from Pakistan and she has received her landing papers but not yet landed and is planing to go in couple of months, so my concern is that should i let her go and take her prc and come back to pakistan and then we marry here or should i get a visitors visa and get married there, i think its all the time that matters coz i dont want to sit ideal over there and earn nothing untill i get my status

Dear, i am a bit confused that what is the difference between a spouse sponsor application and spouse permanent residency card application in my case, kindly help me out on this
