PR obligations and extended absence provisions

Hi,

I am a permanent resident (PR) of Canada who has been absent from Canada for 2.5 years out of the last 5 years.

I am currently in the USA and do not want to lose my PR status. But I need to finish up something before I return permanently to Canada. In particular, I need to stay 7 more months in the USA to graduate first.

I heard that working for Canadian company in the USA is one way to make use of the immigration provisions (i.e. a provision that may provide me with extended time to stay outside Canada without loosing my PR status).

I am about to obtain a full-time home-based employment from a Canadian company. Does such employment offer me the extra absence time in such a situation?

How could I find similar home-based or online employment to satisfy the PR requirement?

Thanks

What about the 2nd question:

Well, you can still return Canada...on your landing paper..either by getting one time travel document or traveling by private car on your landing paper..and then stay there..to become Permanent Resident..isn't it true? correct me Bhand and other pros...
