Hi!

I have a question regarding the PR card.I want to apply for PR card for me and family members when I land in canada at port of Entry with a friend's adress in canada. After landing and living for a week can we go back to india before PR card is issued
and without collecting.

thanks

Yes, One can go out of Canada with out a PR Card but can not re-enter by flying in. He/She can re-enter by Car via USA with out a PR card. He/She can request their freind/relative to mail them PR card, if not recievd before the date of return then apply for "Temporary Travel Document" at the Canada Consulate abroad. The fee for this doc is CND 50.00 & it is valid for only one month and is for one time use only.
This is latest info I get from CIC call center as I am in a similar situation. I hope this will help. One can call CIC call center on arrival into Canada & get the above info to confirm.

did you apply for the "Temporary Travel Document" from the canadian consulate in india? can you give me details as to what documents that you need to apply for one? and is it quite easy to get it or there is a chance to get rejected? in other words, will the canadian consulate ask why you were outside canada immeadiately after you landed and before you received the PR card? others also, please reply.
