1) I read in this forum that one can leave Canada after entering for the first time as a PR. The PR card can then be mailed to a friend in Canada who would then forward it on.
Has anyone had problems re-entering after that? I wanted to see if immigration in Canada can see that one would have left Canada before receiving the card.
My basic question is:
a) if someone goes to Canada for the first time as PR for a few days and goes out of Canada
b) has a friend forward the card to him
c) travels back to Canada after 1 year
Will he have problems reentering Canada? Are the Canadian authorities likely to ask him when he left, why has he been away so long etc.
I would appreciate all your experiences on this matter.
2) When someone enters Canada for the first time as a permanent resident, is the entry stamped by Canadian immigration in the passport different from what they would stamp if someone had gone on a visitor visa.
Thank you.
