Hi,

I landed in Canada october 2002. But immediately, I came back to USA in 2-3 days. Currenlty, I am(family too) staying in USA(Chicago) as GC holder. whenever I will go to Canada(Toronto), I will go by car. 8 hr drive.

But, I want to apply for PR card. I read that, if person has landed after June 28, 2002, Ithen person can apply PR card online. Well, 180 days are already passed, but I have not uploaded my Canadian address.

1. I have to apply PR card online OR re-application with $50 processing fee(each applicant) ????

2. I never stayed/studied/worked in Canada. After my Canada landing 335 days passed. Then, in form 5444, What will be my Canada address ? My friend's address will work ??

3. In short, please tell me Canada related work/stay/study information, what should I write ??

4. Is there anybody applied for PR card, who was like my situation ?

5. I am able to go in Canada anytime(because of USA GC). In that case, if I delay PR application by 3-4 weeks from today. It will be okay ?? OR Sept 30 is deadline date, Which I can not meet.

Thanks,

Please answer my queries.

I know there are so many guys in USA, who are staying in USA and landed in Canada last year. and applied for PR Card. Please answer my queries.

Please dont make this site as WinMX, where every one want to download, but not to share. I shared lot information on this site in past. So, please answer me. Otherwise, I will have to pay some fee to lawyer to get info.

Thanks,

thanks. One more query abt Canada work ?

Hi Ray,

I can manage residence/stay in Canada. What about work info ? Can I keep that area blank Or I have to 'fill' it ??

Recently, I applied on cic.gc.ca to order 2 blank documents (supplementary and one more) online. As well as I gave them my Canada address online also.

In 2 weeks, I will get all blank forms(via Canada). And in 3 days, I will come to know, whether I have to apply for PR Card application or automatically PR Card will come to my place(Canada Address), as I landed in after June 2002.

Most probably, I will go to canada after 3 weeks.

Thanks,

Many people in the same boat..

dont worry, If you apply before sept 30, you will get it before dec 30 deadline, inorder to get into Canada. How ever lot of people still not applied yet. If you aplly now you may get it after dec 30 th since you passed rough cut date sep 30 th. In this case you need permit from Buffalo or canadian consulate in detroit to go to Canada. In your case you have US GC so you may not need Visa.
Hope this helps

You don't need PR card if you travel from USA to chicago after Dec-30-03

Hi,
Don't worry.
You don't need PR card even after dec-30-03 if you travelling by your own car from USA to canada which is not a commercial carrier.

Thanks both of you. What abt work experience in Canada ?

Thanks both of you.

what should I wrtie 'work experiece' in application ? Can I keep it blank ?? I never worked in Canada.

I got PR cards at Canada address today.

I landed in Canada in October 2002. I entered my canada address online in Sept 2003. And I got my PR card at Canada address today.

So, people who landed after June 2002, can just update their Canada address on www.cic.gc.ca and PR card will be mailed at your Canada address.

I didn't applied any PR card application physically, nor I visited Canada.

can you hold canadian PR and USA GC at the same time

Hi,
Can you hold Canadian PR and USA GC at the same time?
Appreciate your feedback

Yes, I hold both GC

I got USA GC in August 2002, And after that I landed in Canada in October 2002.

While landing in Canada, officer was aware of that I am a USA GC holder. But there is no reason to deny my landing. So, I landed in Canada. I got PR card also now by applying online.

You can read my past postings also on this site. I wrote discussion between me and officer at Windsor Canada entry point.

vsshah - can you give us the exact URL of the website where you updated your canadian address for the PR card? thanks.

vsshah need your help

Hi vsshah,
Could you please tell me which route you normally take for visiting Toronto from Chicago?
Last time I crossed border via Buffello as I travelled from Hartford,CT and as a matter of fact I had a same mode of discussion at POE which you had in Windsor POE
Now I am moved to Chicago ..so based on your advice I will follow the route to Toronto..I need to visit in another couple of weeks for picking up PR card
One of my friend was advicing not to follow detroit/windsor?Is there any other better route avoiding Detroit?
Also please advice whether is it safe to cross the border in a USA plated rental car.In Buffello POE it actually helped me but wondering about other POE
Appreciate your help

Hi vsshah

From the above 2 previous pastes you pasted, it seems that you applied your PR Card online from USA and got it within 10 days, is it true? Did you mean that we could apply it online now no matter where we acturlly stay in?

If it is true, I'd like to know how you submitted the photo which must be signed with the taken date by the photostudio. Is it OK taken in USA? Could you pls paste the details?

Thanks

Ani70,

Well, I always crossed border via Windsor, Detroit. Well, I crossed border 3 times before october 2002, on H1 B visa. I landed in Canada in October 2002. At that I had USA GC also and Canada landing stamp got on passport. After that I visited Canada once by showing USA GC in September 2003. This week end also, I am going to Canada with USA GC. I will go through Windsor only.

Before October 2002(Canada landing), I visited Canada with USA name plated car(once with friend's owned car, friend was driving, second time with rental car, I was driving).
At the time of landing, I went to Canada using my own car(USA name plate, never imported). After that also, I visited Canada using USA name plate car(Sept 2003). This weekend, I will use rental car of USA plate for Canada visit.

I got PR Cards.

We(me and family) landed in Canada: October 2002.
and came back to USA in 2-3 days.

I updated my Canada address at : http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-serv...rc/prcform1.asp and applied for PR Cards for all of us(There was no applictaion kind of thing, just I put the names of mine and my family members) on September 2003.

I received my(family too) PR Cards in mail at 'my Canada address' in October 2003 first week.

I went to Canada last week end and grabbed our PR Cards from 'my Canada address'.

Note: I am/was resident of USA for always. I didn't sent any photo or physical papers to Canadian authority for PR Cards. I just changed my address online and put mine and family members' names for PR Cards online, and I got it. I didnt' visited any Canadian office to get it. It was mailed to my canada address.
