PR Card pickup time

Hi guys:
Since I will on a time constraint after my landing in Canada from the US (have to go to India urgently), and so won't be able to stay in Canada for more than 15 days, can you guys advise me on how much time does it take for me to get an PR pickup appointment once I land. Also, I had heard that the PR card would be mailed to a mailing address that you provide on the form. If this is true, how much time would that take.
Your insights will be highly appreciated.
Thanks
MG

PR card will be mailed to your address that you provided during
"Landing Process" and address should not be hotel/motel/po box etc.

If you do not have residential address, you should update
CIC once you have it.

It will take anywhere between 4 weeks to 12 weeks or higher
by the time you receive it

And last but not least you will need PR Card to re-enter canada,
as your canadian landing paper(affixed in passport) "Not Valid for Travel".

Hope this info helps you.

Thanks for the reply. Can I leave Canada for India and then have my folks in Canada ship the PR card to me in Indian? I am pretty sure I won't have time - as in 12 weeks - to be in Canada

As long as you can do it.

All the best.

Urgent help needed - please clarify this for me

I keep getting conflicting information on this subject. Please help, as I'm moving to Canada before 15th of March to land.

Situation: I will "land" in Toronto, and give a friend's mailing address for the PR card to be sent to. I will then return to the US within 7 days on my valid H1 with a letter from the company saying that I will continue in their employment until May 15th this year when my H1 expires.

Question: Will I be able to re-enter Canada in May without any problems even though I wouldn't yet have received the PR card? What documentation will I show to prove my immigrant status?

thanks,

Capitalist
