PR card and landing?

A couple of my friends have/are landing and have a few questions:

Has anyone completed the landing process in the last one month and have any idea as to how long it is taking for the processing of PR card and SIN number?

Also, when they land in Canada, is it alright to give a hotel address initially and later change it to an apartment address, once the apartment is fixed.

Landing , PR card and SIN

NEVER give the Hotel Address in these matters.
Think on factors.
1. How long are you planning to stay in Canada?
2. Usually PR card takes about 3 weeks max depending on where you land and apply for it.
The best way is to Land go to your address in the country and from there provide the Address ( rather it icalled updaing adddress) to HRDC guys. You do it on the web itself, other modes are faxing ot mailing.
THe best is Online address change.
3. You will find an address easily. there are lot of places you get such accomodation and assistance.

Visit the site www.canadiandesi.com and you will find lots of Paying guest accomodations and you can use there addresses as well. if you want they will mail back your PR and SIN cards to your US address as well.
