Hi,
I submitted all docs and medicals done in May. Havent received the PP request yet. Any one in similar situation? My file is in NY.
 
We are in the same situation. File transferred to NY in Mar and got IA shortly thereafter. Did medicals in May and submitted other docs in June. Still waiting for PP req.

Checked with lawyer and they say it can take between 4-6 mths fm the time of medicals. Apparently they are doing background checks on our files right now. So just waiting...........

BTW, my medical info is not updated in the online CAS either. How about urs??
 
oh..ok.. Thanks for that. We did our medicals in Feb. So probably this month or next we might get our PPR. Yes. I have 'medicals received' updated in the site.

How did you know that they are doing background checks now? Did you mail or something?

Could u tell me how long it took for ur medicals to get updated in the site? I am getting a bit anxious about it cos I did it in the beginning of May and its still not updated. So its been 4 mths already in my case......

Reg. background checks. Its what the lawyers told me after I asked them when I will get the PPR. I am guessing its a standard answer cos I think after IA, the Canadian Immigration dept. does background checks for all applicants before issuing PPR.

I think if ur case is more complicated, it takes more time. In our case, we've lived in 3 other countries besides US, so its gonna take more time to check, I guess :(

Guess, it takes atleast 2- 3 months for the medical results to be updated at E-cas and then simultaneously i think the back ground checks go on before we get the PPR. Hoping i will get as soon as you get yours. :)
 
Ntom, I did my medicals in April mid and the system was updated in June end.
All the best for all who are waiting for the PPR. I have sent a letter to CIC NY asking for a status of my application. Will update you all in case I get any reply.

I received my PPR request yesterday. It took exacly 5 months after my medicals and 4 months after I sent all the documents to NY.

Hope those who are waiting will benefit from this info.

Applied: Feb 2005 to Buffalo
Ack: March 2005
File transfered to NY: Feb 2006
IA: Feb 2006
Medicals: April 2006
Docs sent: May 2006
PPr request: Sept 2006

I am getting really concerned about my appln. My Medicals info is still not updated in the e-CAS. I did it in the first week of May itself :( Hope there are no issues and tht I get the PPR soon too......

Can u tell me how u contacted the NY office?? Would appreciate if u'd give me the address............

Thanks for the wishes. We are planning to land in Dec.... Before that have to get the passports stamped.

Dont worry much. It will come soon.

Actually I sent a letter to NY consulate on Sep 1st... and this PPR issued date is Sep5th. So I dont beleive they got a chance to read my letter. Anyway you can send a letter asking for status. Its on the IA letter you might have got already...

Thats cool. I think ususally it would take about two weeks to get your passport stampled. Relax, everything will be just fine.

So, where do you intend to land ? Toronto, Vancouver etc ??
