PP stamping in Chicago beware if 485 approved at VSC.

My case got approved at VSC, but pp stamp at Chicago on 7/5/2001.

Conversation with an IIO at NSC & VSC.

    ME: I am checking on I-89 do you have any status on it.

    IIO: He asked my A# and then told me my file is still in VSC. dont know if they have received I-89 or not.
          normally Chicago should send your paper work to VSC. VSC will be proccessing your Plastic Card
          not NSC. If they have send it to NSC then it will take a very long time because we dont have your
          file here and we will drop your paper work in a bucket with very low priority and eventually it will be forwarded
          to VSC. He also said he also hopes that Chicago has sent it to VSC other wise i am in for a long haul.
          He also told me that VSC can provide me much detail info that where exactly my paper work is and how long
          it will be . He told me to call VSC. This IIO was very polite and a great Gentelman.
          
          I called VSC and the lady IIO (nice lady) told me that they have NOT receive any paper work from Chicago.
          and my file is just sitting there waiting for the I-89. She advise me to go to Chicago INS and ask them the
          the status of my I-89. Did they send it to NSC or VSC.

          So GURUS what should I do , any comments are welcome.

    Hope it helps the people whose cases were approved in a different Service Center then the PP stamp.
    It will be a good idea to check with the person who is stamping your PP where they will be sending
    the I-89 paperwork. NSC or VSC.

What is I-89?

I have similar case with you. My I-485 was filed at VSC and PP stamped at a local INS at Tucson, AZ. The IIO didn\'t mention anything like I-89, what\'s it? Thank you.

I-89 is GC form

I-89 is the form where they take your finger print and send it
to the Service center so they can apply for the plastic card.
