I got my stamping done today at Fairfax, VA. It is close to Dunn Loring metro. Was a breeze really with Infopass.
I had appointments at 8:00 AM (for me) and 8:20 AM (for my wife). Reached there around 7:35 AM. There were around 20 odd people waiting in line. There is a paid parking lot right in front of the building ($3.75 for full day). It was mostly empty when I parked. There is another parking next to building ($4.00 for a day I think).
As soon as we reached the building entrance, they were letting people in (only with Infopass) to our delight (didn't want to stand in 28'F cold) around 7:45 AM. Went through security check. An officer takes your EAD's and photos to put them in a small envelope which is attached with other docs. Then after getting a token, you are asked to proceed into the main office. It looks like a big DMV office with a display board displaying the token and counter. Once your token is announced, you go to the counter, give out all the stuff and get the "red" stamp. You can congratulate yourself, b'cos the officer would not do it.
So both of us were out of office by 8:35 AM. Went back to the parking lot (it was full now) to drive out as free birds and guess what..... we didn't even need to pay for parking as it opens at 9:00 AM.
Wanted to take the day off and celebrate. But with an impending vacation, have some assignments to finish off. So went to McDonalds to get breakfast (celebration) and back to the grind at office. Atleast I can share this happy news with this forum which is good.
