Hi all,
We got our passports stamped at 300 N. Los Angeles Street. Here is our experience:
- From 101 South took the Los Angeles Street exit, went past the INS building which is right next to the exit on the left hand side, took a left on to Temple Street and tried to park at the parking lot on the right ($6.60 flat rate). Since the lot was temporarily closed, went back to Los Angeles Street and parked at the Los Angeles Mall right acroos the INS building ($5.00 an hr)
- There was a long security line which took us about 20 minutes to get into the building. Got into the building at 10:50AM
- Went directly to room 2050 (as per our lawyer’s suggestion)
- Presented the courtesy copies to the guard who wrote a token number in pencil on the copies, and told us that we would be called in a few minutes!
- Next, went up to the 3rd floor (directions posted) to take our ADIT photos ($10.00 for 2 photos).
- Got back at the room at 11:25AM to hear my name being called at Counter 9.
- The officer took my H1/photos/passport and Driver\'s License (for verification), was asked to sign a form and the index finger of my right hand was fingerprinted above the signature. Then he stamped my passport valid for a year and told me that I would receive my card in 11 months.
- About 10 minutes later after he stamped 2 others waiting there, called my wife\'s name (actually he had called her name just before mine, we missed it as we came back from taking the photos after that) and everything was over by 12PM!
Suggestions: - Might be better to take the ADIT photos earlier.
- Just park at the Los Angeles Mall, expensive but you don’t need to drive around looking for parking.
Thanks and good luck!
