Hello, everyone!
I am relatively new to this forum. I find it very interesting and useful.
My fiancé(US citizen) and I are getting married on May 21, 2010. And probably shortly after that, sometime in June, we'll file the documents for the green card.
I have read all the information on the USCIS website regarding the protocol for applying. However, I do have a question. The question is related to the poverty guidelines for the I-864, sponsor form. My future husband has been in the army, active duty, for 4 years. After that he has joined the reserve and currently serves as a staff sergeant with an army reserve unit. I've seen that the poverty guideline for active members of the US armed forces is $18.310 for 3 people(he has a son). My question is:
Will the same poverty guideline apply to us even though he is with the reserve and not an active member of the army?
Thank you in advance for your time.
