My sister who is going through an employment based sponsorship is worried that her employer didnt put any number for her social security (because she is not living in the states) but she did for the Packet 3 form (she has a SSN through marriage and then divorce. Its not for work though and is now living outside the states her whole life). Basically she is worried about the confliction that might happen because one form has it with them and the other doesnt. Is the Social Security Number mistake is going to affect anything? THanks

It would appear that USCIS records are keyed off of the Alien Number (A#) rather than SSN. So while they may notice the mismatch and ask questions, it may not be a blocker.

I hope thats the case because she hasn't done anything illegal and I always assumed that SSN are issued after you in the US...so im hoping a simple mistake like that wouldn't be a problem. WHat do you guys think?
