Postponing FP appointment

We are about to file I-130/I-485/I-765 for my wife. My wife is pregnant and not traveling. If she gets a FP appointment, can she postpone by 2 months or so? Also, if there is a RFE due to some issue such as Birth Certificate, will that delay FP appointment?

yeah, i guess you can call USCIS and postpone the FP appt.
RFE will delay EAD/AP/Interview date but i havent heard about RFE delaying the FP appt

A lot of people (including myself) seem to be scheduled for FP right away, even before they take a closer look at the application, so RFE does not seem to play any role in the scheduling of FP. Just look at the "EAD after RFE" thread and you will see all these people having their FP appointment before they got RFE. Actually, I wonder if they do much processing before FP anyway, so a two-month delay could possibly push everything back for you. Could you just wait to file?

I just feel that once I get a receipt for I-485, that means my spouse does not need to worry about her H-1 status. Of course, she has a decent job, so I can wait.

Is this FP for I-485 or I-765 or both? For postponing, do I just have to call the 1-800 number or anything else? Has anybody postponed FP - if yes, please post experience.

I had FP (code 3) for both at the same time. I have no experience with postponing FP, but looking at my FP notice I wonder how flexible they really are. There is no number to call. This is what it says about rescheduling on my notice:
Request for Rescheduling

Please reschedule my appointment for the next available: _ Wednesday afternoon _ Saturday afternoon

U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) cannot guarantee the day preferred, but will do so to the extent possible. Upon receipt of your request, you will be provided with a new appointment notice. Make a copy of this notice for your records, then mail the original with your request to [address of local ASC]
That is why I was suggesting you may want to wait. I do not know how easy it would be to delay the FP by a couple of months. Looking at my notice, it does not seem that easy to do it. Of course, if your wife's H1b is expiring, then you cannot wait.

Your wife can continue to work on her H-1 even after filing I-485.
