Postpone FP?

I'm preparing GC application for my wife and plan to send the application at the beginning of April, but afraid she cannot go to the scheduled FP because her final exams in middle of May.

In your finger print notice, does it say: “If you are unable to appear at this time, you may go on any following Wednesday at the same time noted below, as long as you appear before mm/dd/yyyy”?

If I reschedule FP, how long it might delay the application? Or should I wait until middle of April then send the application?

I live in NY state.

Here's what my FP notice says:

[] Please reschedule my appointment. Upon receipt of your request, you will be provided a new appointment notice. Make a copy of this notice for your records, then mail the original with your request to USCIS ******* (your DO & address)

So, you check the box and they'll reschedule and mail a new FP notice.

As for what you should do, I would say it's better to file and reschedule than wait, but it's up to you.
