What is the cheapest way to send books to India(approx. 10 pounds), by mail etc.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

UPS - Around $ 43.00

I sent some papers to India earlier this month using UPS. It reaches in 3-5 days. Make sure that you use the 'UPS envelope'.

US Mail was around $56.00.

You can try calculating the postage online at http://www.ups.com

Use surface mail. This goes by ship. Will take a month to reach destination. Surely the cheapest way.

Go to USPS and ask them.
They have got some kind of international priority mail which costs around 8$ but have got weight limitation (5 or 10 lbs).
I am not very sure. You can check in their website or ask them

Use Book Post - it takes 2-3 months (goes via ship) - it is the cheapest.
