Hi,

My notice date is Dec 16,1999. And I called on II yesterday in order to check whether INS has issued P. At first, the lady II said like your case might be reached in two months. Then I said to her Thank you, of source, I would wait until it is reached. However, I was told that many who have ND even later than me got their FL notice.\' Then the lady said Wait a minute, let me check for you, sometimes, gala bala bala\'. A minute after I was told that FP has been mail out Feb 12th. I haven\'t got it so far. My concern is about the letter delivery. Because I have changed mailing address and don\'t have attorney. My question is that any body who has changed mailing address without attorney has same problem. I often read from this board INS delivers letter to old address though new address has been in their record. Another question is whether post officer would forward the letter that is from INS to new address or they just simply return it back to INS(is it a rumor that post officer would not forward letter from INS to a new changed address?)

Thank you for your attention

Assuming you already did the address change procedure from your local post office , your mail should be deliverd to your new address even if INS sent to old address , you need to talk to your old post office to inquire about your mail , it happend to me and all mail to my old address was deliverd to my new address.

good luck

It is not necessary that the post office will forward all the mails to your new address. Some letters come with "Should not be forwarded" note on the cover. Those mails will go back even if post office has a forwarding address on their record.

Some Government mails will not be delivered if you dont have that name in your mail box. I moved into a new aprtament in June 2000 and I was lazy not to put any name in my mail box assuming all the mail will anyway be delivered.. But my car title which came in July 15th went back to the DOT without even a note to me about it. Later when I called DOT (in Feb 2001) I learnt that my title was attempted to be delivered on July 15 and went back to them because the name was not there in the mail box..

The postal rules here ware weird. SO you have to be very careful about the mails you expect and consistently should follow up with the authorities.

It should not matter now. The FP notices are sent the Attorney. Applicants do not even get courtesy copy.

Sean,

The FP notice will most likely not be forwarded(do not forward is stamped on it). Also, INS probably has separate database for FP, so chances are that even though your address change got updated in regular database(which deals with all other notices, EAD , AP etc), the FP database may not have been updated. Call up IIO and ask them to change the address in FP database too, also to reissue the FP at the new address. Hope this helps.
