Good Day!
I am a Spring 2012 graduate and I am currently staying in the US under Post-Comp OPT valid until May 2013. I worked during the summer but that job has finished and I am leaving the US in a couple of days. When I get home, I plan on reapplying for a Tourist Visa to be able to visit my family in the US for Christmas or next year in the Spring. I do not plan on working in the US in the foreseeable future nor plan to live here but I do wish to visit my family.
My questions are as follows:
1.) Do I need to surrender my EAD Card to my university?
2.) Will surrendering my card, automatically surrender my OPT, work authorization, and F-1 status?
3.) Will the two situations above, if they are true, help me be able to justify my application as a tourist to be for visiting alone?
4.) If surrendering my card does not indicate my willful surrendering of OPT, work authorization, and F-1 status, what do I need to do to make that indication?
Thank you.
