I am currently in F1 visa, doing my second master's degree. I do not have an OPT as I already used up my OPT before enrolling into second master's program. Now i got a job and my employer is likely to file for H1B in may. I know that the H1B earliest start date can be only Oct 1.
* After I get the H1B approval notice, can I quit my master's degree that I am currently doing and go to India and then come back after getting the visa stamped? how many days prior to oct 1st can I enter USA?
+++++++++++++As far as I remember, 10 days prior to start of job (1 October).
* Say I don't want to go to India. Can I continue my master's degree until say middle of august and then quit the degree (on the basis that I have H1B approval notice effective oct 1)? this will save me from paying the tution for the fall semester.
