Possible Approval???

My online case status says "On January 5, 2004, the document we made based on the approval or registration of this case was mailed directly to the person to whom issued". I will not believe it until I get my approval letter by mail. The reason being the previous status was saying (as of Dec 20th 20003) "On Dec 15th a notice was mailed to you requesting further evidence of information as to what exactly is needed from me, please call 1-800---- if you do not receive the letter in 14 days". I nethier received the letter nor sent them any information. I wanted to mail out my application for EAD today but I will wait for another 15 days.
Any input in this regard is greatly appriciated.

It looks like an approval. But it may not be an approval. Based on most of the cases from many forum postings, it turned out to be fp notice, address update kind of stuff. Anyway good luck.
 
Your current message is normally an indication that a FP notice has been sent to you. However your previous message sounds like a RFE (Request for evidence), which has a limited timeframe to be responded to (60 - 90 days).

I would suggest to call the NSC asap and find out if they mailed a RFE.

my own case.

Nov 26, 2003 - online message said my I485 was approved. I got my notice and my passport stamped on Dec 8,2003.
About Dec 14th, my message turned to what you are seeing in your case. About the approval/registration directly mailed, yada yada yada. I had even asked about it in this forum. You can search the archive and get it.
Within a couple of days it changed to card being ordered and later on to card being mailed. Within a week I had the card.
