Positive skin test and chest x-ray but no symptoms of TB. Help

Me and my wife both had positive skin test (we are from India). For my wife the chest x-ray is positive. The doctor is suggesting to get a bronchoscopy test done and then go for 6 months medication.

I have following concerns:
-
  1. are there any serious side effects of this medication ?
  2. is the bronchoscopy necessary or just a workup the immigration requires ? It’s quite intense process and have little but some risk involved too, the reason we are worried.
  3. I know i am not a doctor but have this understanding that skin and chest xray are indications that it might be a latest/active TB but does not confirm the fact. Based on just the assumption we are scared to take this medication and bronchoscopy test.

should we go for a second openion

really appreciate your thoughts on this in advance.

Regards,
