Portability Law: 180 days period.

Hello Immiogration Gurus,

Had a quick question about portability law.

Do I have to stay with the company for 180 days after the receipt notice date or is it 180 days after filing?

e.g.
if the lawyer sent out the 1485 forms on 09/05/04 and the recipt date is 09/24/04. So does the 180 days rule start from the 5th or the 24th?

Appreciate any information that you can provide.

Its 180 days from RD which in this case is 09/24/04
