Political Asylum

I am here in USA for the last 7 months with visitor visa. I applied Asylum before 2 months. i did my finger print in Kansas city IO before 7 weeks. i have not scheduled for My interview. There is a delay and i want to be interviewed as soon as possible. Should I transfer the case to Chicago IO or Waiting for response in Kansas city IO. Please give me your advice. Thank you for your response

Are you saying that:
1. You enter USA 7 months ago (from today)
2. You applied Asylum 2 months ago (from today)
3. You did your finger prints 7 weeks ago (from today

OR

Are you saying that:
1. You enter USA 7 month ago (from today)
2. You applied Asylum 2 months after you arrived in USA
3. You did your finger prints 7 weeks after you arrive in USA

Please clarify the above,
Thanks

i did my asylum in kansas city and i did my interview the schedule lenght of time they say on their website,it was pretty fast but i am still waiting fo the decision since 8 months ,i pray that it is good and comes out soon ,it really sucks not to have a decision yet.for your case ,i dont know why it takes so much time but you can call the office in kanss city that you need to make an interview and am pretty sure they will do something for you to be schedule on time .just give them a call and tell them that your schedule for interview has taken so much time and that you need to schedule one now and if it is posible.good luck

what i want to say is that i am here in USA before 7 months from now. I applied my asylum before 2 months from now and i give finger print 7 weeks from now. I have no job permit or money except breathing fresh air. SO should I schedule my interview in Chicago or waiting for response from Kansas IO? Thanks

Hi, this is from my own personal point of view and I maybe not right,
but if I were you, I would stick/stay with the Kansas IO,
because rescheduling an interview usually might affect your "clock".
As you know, they will give you permit to work 6 months after they receipt your asylum application (and if the application is still pending).
The most important thing for you right now, is to get income.
and in order to get income you need to wait 6 months.
if you move your case to Chicago, it might stop your clock,
and if your clock stopped, it will further delay the time when you can get your job permit.

Plus further delay in your case processing might happen... due to transfer of document....
or sometimes, your document might be missing during the transfer,
thus cause more problem.... which will in the end result in DELAYED interview again...

I understand that you want your asylum interview asap,
but it is more important for you to be able to get income soon,
so you can still be alive to fight another day (when they finally call for your interview).
Even if you had to wait 1 year before you finally got interviewed,
but as long as you can get a job permit about 4 months from today,
you will be able to wait for that interview to come.

I think it is best if you keep on contacting Kansas IO every week,
just to make sure you get updated on the progress of your case.

What do you think?
