hi guys,i went to asylum interview on 11th may 2010,the interview went well and at the end the officer told me to come pick up the notice by myself on 27th may 2010.but i heard that they usually mail you the notice if you do not live in chicago state whichs means that I'LL GO TO THE MINNESOTA IMMIGRATION OFFICE to pick up my notice coz i live in MINNESOTA.and i heard people saying that if i go to the immigration, immigration officer will put me in jail or deportation system without the notice. but i do have my valid student visas and i never commit any kind of crimes.what should i do?help me out guys.
but no matter what i do want to go to the IMMIGRATION OFFICE OF MINNESOTA.

There is no such thing as Chicago state. You mean Chicago the capitol of IL? Go to USCIS.gov and find your local asulym office. I believe you pick up the decision exactly there you was interviewed. You can call them and ask, if you don't have an attorney.
P.S. Stop "hearing what people say" and talk to your lawer, or if you can't afford one, do some research (again, go to USCIS.gov)

yeah thks man..i really appreciat it but i don any lawyer.nd chicago in IL.yeah before i left the interview place the officer gave a paper that mention to come on 27th may to pick up my notice.
i research on USCIS.gov nd the wrote down there that chicago asylum office have to send me the notice.so i don't understand why this officer told me to come get it by myself in minneosta coz i was interviewed in minnesota.IT'S SO WEIRD...i need more help my friends

Do you have legal status in the U.S.? Sometimes officers make mistakes. Your best shot is to call the asylum office in Chicago (it's the one that service Minnesota) and ask them where you should pick up the decision. I don't know for sure, but my guess is that you have to pick it up in Chicago, because there is no asylum office in Minnesota. Again, I don't know for sure, try to call them. Phone number 312-353-9607.
I just don't get how you possibly could be interviewed in Minnesota? There is no asylum office in Minnesota. Anyway, just call the officer man.

Normally, that is how it works. Once they interview you, they will tell you to come back exactly the place
where you were interviewed in about 14 days.....and that is what you should do....

Why in Minnesota? Normally, if there is no asylum office in your state, asylum officers travel from the
district office that serve your state....in your situation, there is not asylum office in Minn...so the asylum office
in Chicago has jurisdiction over asylum cases in Minn. So they travel from Chicago to MInn, interview asylees
and make decisions available at venue where the interview was conducted....

In situations like this, it is always good to get the interviewing officer's information, like phone number, fax,
e-mail, so that you can contact him/her should you have questions...

Good luck

thks y'all for ur supports and i have a questions abt my student visas to.i didn't go to scxhool since i came in USA cause of my asulym case.is that gonna do sumtin wrong on my case?

It's even better. You don't have to disprove that you came to study, liked the U.S. and decided to stay here. That's good. You came to this country only with the purpose to get protection.
