Police Clearance!

Hello Friends,

I’m applying I-485. In this forum I see many people asking to find out about getting Police Clearance from the countries we lived in. Is it true we need to get police clearance certificate from the countries we lived in ? If so what is that we are doing finger print check at I-485 stage? Will FBI will not check the criminal background check? I’m very curious on this issue ‘cos I worked in Dubai from 1988 to 1997. Do I need to get Police clearance certificate from this country or what is that I need to do. Please post if any one sailing on this boat.

My case details NSC, EB3, and Labor Feb 2000, waiting to apply I-485.

This is not true that we need to get police clearence. we just need to go for the FP, and FBI will take care of rest of the business.
