My Wife went to Interview today and she was requested for Police clearance certificate since her Finger prints were not legible.
She has to respond before end of this month (May 31) for the application to be considered and recommended for Citizenship.
They have given 2 options
(1) Provide police clearance from cities she has lived for past 5 years.
(2) Obtain Statewide Clearance letter from California Department of Justice.
We could go with Option(1) - Current City we live in agreed to provide a letter if we pay a fee. When she called upon couple of other police departments of cities we lived in they have asked her to go through "California Department of Justice" which is nothing but option (2).
Looks like OPtion (2) would require her to give finger prints again and wait for a letter through mail for "Clearance letter".
I am wondering if option (2) is the right thing to do, also looks like we may not get the clearance certificate at the right time. Has anyone come across a similar issue in CA. Please share your experience on how you resolved this.
Also how long would INS delay the process considering that she would mail clearance certificate by end of this month.
