I was concerned if I still need a Police Certificate from my home country, Indonesia. Even though I lived in Indonesia for 12 years, I only lived there for only 5 months after my 16th Birthday.
Since I couldn't get a clear answer, I e-mailed the U.S Consulate in Frankfurt directly and asked them if I would require to have a Police Certificate. Here is their answer:
According to their answer, it looks like I would not require to have a police certificate that covers 5 months in Indonesia after I reached the age of 16. But, what surprised me is that they said 12 months instead of what I have been reading all over the net, 6 months.
Any opinion on this?
PS: The typing mistake of the word "on" instead of "one" is an actual mistake in the e-mail that the U.S Consulate sent me.
