Seeking clarification regarding police certificate.
I am applying for my wife's GC. We submitted I-130 about 6 months ago and are waiting for NVC notice.
1) We are getting the police certificate from Bengaluru, India. Is lastname change and/or addition of spouse name on passport required before either the passport office or the district police office will issue a police certificate?
2) Can we start the process of obtaining the police certificate now? If we get it too early, then it may expire by the time of the interview. However, if we get it too late, can we submit the NVC package without the police certificate and notify NVC that we will bring it in during the interview?
