Police certificate doesn't come in

Hello,

I have a problem: my consular processing interview will happen next week, but the police certificate has not been received yet. I just checked - it looks like processing time for certificates in my case increased from one month to three months recently!

What should I expect? Should I try rescheduling the interview, or should I go for it anyway - did anyone had such an experience and what happened?

Thank you so much in advance!

cavsb,
Did you post the query in "Montreal" thread? You may find people facing similar issues and get some coverage in that thread.
Thanks,

cavsb,

As I remember, you need to send all the required documents in
original before the interview is scheduled in Canada.

How did you send the file without the PCC in the first place ??

Raju, the interview is scheduled in a third country, and this is a DV consular processing interview, so there was no requirement that the certificate is available beforehand.

It looks like RCMP (Canadian Police) have increased their processing time from 6 weeks to 90 days, this is why I'm falling through like this.

Have anyone had a similar situation?!

Hi CAVSB:

This is what my experience with the Indian counsulate, Chicago. After I applied for PCC, I didn't hear anything from them for more than 50 days. Then I called and talk to the person who responsible for PCC stuff. She put up a ' Service request ' on my case to see if they get any reply soon. She told me, According to their stadard procedure, if the consulate office did not get any reply to the reference they made as far as PCC is concerned, then the Counslate officer will have the privilege to issue PCC. I think the same should apply to all the consulates. They have an emergency service on all cases. I guess, if you pay more then you may get it in one or two days. But you have to submit the proper documentation which shows a valid reason as to Y you need PCC under emergency policy. In my case I paid, $165 as my wife was leaving for India at that time to get back her Passport and PCC. Hope this helps

PCC in NY

Hello..

The NY indian consulate policy is that they will wait for 45 days for the reply from India. If they dont get it by then they will issue the PCC anyway..

The easiest way to expedite this process is to contact the indian office with the case number from NY and make sure they respond to the reference as early as they can. This is as per suggestion from NY
