plz help abt pcc urgent, expecting interview in march

Hi Guys,
As of today I didn't get PCC for myself and my wife. Is it necessary to get PCC. I am expecting my CP interview in March. So I think I may not get PCC from CGI-Houston within one month. My P3 reached consulate in Dec 30, 2003. Guys please help me with some idea.

PCC is a required document...a MUST. There is no way to do a CP interview without a PCC.

Here are two options:
1. Apply for a PCC in houston and explain the situation

2. Simultaneously apply for a PCC in Local police station in your home city in india and at your regional passport office in india

Hopefully one of the two works. Sorry to say but not applying for PCC in time for your cp interview is either NEGLIGENCE on your part on the part of your attorneys if they did not inform you to do so in time.

I would apply for PCC at CGI Houston ASAP.
Additionally, if your passport was issued from one of the consulates/embassy in the US, you will get the PCC in a week.
Otherwise they take 30 days. However, I know of cases where people explained their situation and the CGI issued the PCC without waiting for the 30 days.

Just want to re-emphasize parag's point that go to CGI houston in person since it is difficult to get thru their phone lines and explain the situation and they have been pretty understanding in the past!
 
Plus, (You normally hear before a lot of automated response system), but their MENU options have changed.

On the phone OR in person, try to talk to an officer - someone who normally signs the PCC and other stuff related to the passport and who has the authority to expedite the matter.
