Pls help: Stuck in Ottawa: H1B and 221G

Hi All,
I went to US Embassy in Ottawa yesterday and was given 221G for Interagency Clearence. The visa officer mentioned that it may take 4 weeks to 4 months.
What are the steps that I can take now?
I was reviewing the forum. It looks like it takes months, sometime 10+ months to get the clearance.
Pls advise.
 
If Canada is not your home country, you can return there and wait. The delays in the security clearances are a well documented risk that you should have been aware of. Given the number of clearance checks that will need to be run following the election, I would expect a long wait.

What is your current situation? Did you return to your home country? Could you please post your interview questions? Is your name the common one that requires checks?
