Pls. Help me with this Finger Prininting issue in Boston

Hi,

   I did my finger printing electronically on 06/21 with my wife,
      but yesterday I called the FBI (3rd time) and they still have
      not received them. My lawyer has told me to go back to the center
      with a copy of the notice and to get it redone. Has anyone done this
      before, or is my lawyer jumping the gun here ? Also I have heard
      something about only two FP in a 15 mth. period, id this true. Help !

We did our finger prints on 6/22 at Boston and FBI did not receive it till today, my friend did it on 6/20, FBI did not receive it either. What\'s happened to our finger prints? What should we do? Did you redo your finger prints? Please keep us posted for your FP status? Thanks!!

Well let me tell you what I did, which is very interesting. I went
back to the Boston Finger Printing Center 7/12, and spoke to the INS
and FBI officer there. They verified the prints were transmitted,
and that the INS/FBI systems have not received. They also confirmed
that the prints are transmitted directly to the FBI center.
I called VSC , and they said they will send another notice in 60
days, if it still does not show up, but your lawyer must send the
request. Make sure you do it before Sept. 11, or they will think
you\'ve abandoned you 485. This is quite disheartening.

I also did my FP on 6/21 and I called FBI three or four times so far and they have not received anything from INS. Please keep posted if you hear anything.

Thanks a lot for the replay and info!!!!! This is a very bad news that INS/FIB are losing our finger print files. Imaging, how many people do not know if they do not know to check with FIB after the finger prints. TOO BAD!!!!!

Anyway, could you please share a little bit more info with us?

So, there is no way they could recover our files instead of redo it????

What is the SC number you called in order to let them send you another finger print notice? Does that mean they have to receive the lawyer\'s request letter in order to send out the notice again? Do we have to do it before Sep 11, or we have to send them request before Sep 11? Thanks again to share this important info with us!!!!

Hi ,

They cannot think we abandoned the 485. INS took the FP notice from us and they have record stating that we have done our FP. The thing that is missing is the approval from FBI. If they do not find it, they will issue a fp redo. I am also in the same boat and I had posted a reply before this one.

Hi, We checked with INS, They said they sent out FP at the same day, but FBI did not receive them. TOO BAD and SAD!! We might need to redo it. Any more people are at the same boat? What a pain!!

I think we need to ask VSC to send out a new FP letter. I\'m not
sure if it will do us any good meeting at the boston finger printing
center. My friend went down to the center, and managed to get his
finger prints redone (by some miracle),
using a copy of the same notice, but suprise
suprise, the FBI still did not receive it. I have two explanations
for this.

1. They are not sending the FP to the FBI directly, and are storing
it for some reason.

2. They file the prints against some number on the notice, and that
might be screwed up. So a new FP notice might help.

I agree with what you say. We need to talk to VSC. But when you talk to the IIO, he says that when the officer assigned to your case pulls out your file, and if he finds fp is not approved, then he will send another FP notice. Till then they might not send another FP notice. They keep saying it sometimes take longer time to get FBI approval.

Also look into one of the postings today.
FP was done on july 5 and it was sent to FBI only today--july 19. So let us hope that our FP\'s will be sent soon.

Again it is a mystery why it takes so long to send to FBI.

Hi I just checked my FP with FBI,

I did FP on june 21 and FBI received it on July 18 and they have sent it back on July 18 to INS Vermont after approval.

I hope everyone who posted message in this thread would have their approval from FBI very soon. Please check the cases again.

Good news that FBI officer informed me that they received the files today and the checking has completed by today and it has been sent back to INS already. I\'m impressed by the FBI service, they even called me to inform me this info without my request. So call the FBI office again to check back your case. Good luck!!!!

Hurray,

they received mine yesterday, and processed it today, and sent it back
this afternoon to VCS. Now just have to confirm with VCS that they got
it, and the loop will be closed. I hope the rest of you will have the
same experience.

Hi,

I just called VSC today ,and they told me that they have not received
any confirmation back from the FBI for me or my wife. I called them
at 802-527-4913. The FBI have received my prints and sent them back
on 07/20. Anyone with any different experinces ?

I did FP in early June but in another city -- philly, PA. Could you please tell me the number you called for FBI, so that I can check if the same thing happen to the FP files in our city.
