Pls. Advise. Apply for Spouse\'s H1-B Ext or use EAD

We recently filed for I-485 (RD 11/9/01 ND 12/8/01). I am the primary applicant. My spouse currently has an H1-B from a second employer. Her H1B expires in 04/02. Given the uncertain times at my employer with risk of layoffs, would you advise to file for an H1-B extension for her or invoke her EAD?

Experts, please advise.
