Folks,
The other day I was wondering that President Bush has given $5 Mil. to make all illigal immigrants PR and he is talking about speeding up the process too. How about we all write a petition to him and to our Governor that they need to look into the plight of legal immigrants(want to be)too.
1.We pay taxes and 2.We work to add to US economy specially in software sector. What do you think?

Good post working on the numbers.
History has proved often that Weaker will perish.
H1Bs are putting in 50 billions and get almost nothing in fair treatment from INS.

illegal immigrants from "various" countries get better treatment and better protection for the want of votes.
We have to have a strong lobby. Immigrant Support Network created good movement and got success.
We need to have continuous pressure.
Without pressure and survelence government officers start working on different muscles all together as we have read in the papers.
Slavery has changed it\'s forms. First men were enslaved for their muscle power, then for muscle and hard work and some brain during rail road time and now for brain work in
    Information Technology.
Can someone imagine that community which is putting 50 billion dollars in the economy is getting such a treatment from the government /INS as if they are the slaves.

Start writing to INS and senators. Without united action, slaves will continue to be exploited. With unity, we will be free in the so called "free world."
    -Amen

I can\'t beleive this talk about slavery. Who knows about slavery better than someone that has been trying to make a living as an illegal immigrant, maybe at a few dollars an hour, no rights, no possibility for education? No healthcare?
Most of us on this forum are the lucky ones, a good education, a decent job, a possibility to control our future and our situation. We are all a bit frustrated with the long wait for our green cards. But let us not loose the perspective on things.
Slavery? I don\'t think so.

Helper007,
Please put up your format here. People who have some self respect will take action.
Many will wait for others to bell the cat.
Some will refuse the notions of being slave in the hands of INS
Some will go back to motherland.

America requires people who can act, can fight for their human rights and want to make progres in their life and standard of living.

Cobwebs - I know hundreds of people who are waiting for their green cards for 5/6 years.
Illegal immigrants get GC faster sometimes.
And comparing ourselves with illegal immigrants has no point as that will be like comparing ourselves with criminals sitting in the jail.
or worse animals sitting in the zoo.
