Can there is a gap between the approval date of a first time h1b (was on OPT previously) and the date payroll was started. ?
After my OPT ended in Feb '03; my h1b approval date was March 10 2003, I started on work Apr 1st 2003.
I am talking about like a 20 days gap at the start.? Can we say personal leave /vacation etc or simply state that I took about 2 weeks time & strated at work only on Apr 1st?
Any pointers on how to explain the same particularly for folks who compelte MS here and were on opt then got h1b.
I am going to chennai for staming my h1b in abt a weeks time.
My 2003 w-2 has enough amount based on working for 10 months. So do I even have to give them all pay stubs for 2003? The chennai consulate website states paystubs for the current year only i.e 2004 only.
I need to figure this issue out rather quickly.
