Looks like NSC is also adopting the policy of processing cases from backward in the name of reducing backlog. Today one ND 2004 case was approved. This policy is highly unfair, if not illegal. Lots of people like us in the same EB2 catagory has been waiting for 5-7 years, now the whole process is taking 6 months for some people? And the worst about that is the effort to approve newly applied case is jeopardizing our cases. Where is the fairness!!!! I think we should start a media compaign about this, and let American people know what they are doing to us. This is a free country, nobody should be condemned like us!!!!!

Honestly the only American communities that might be interested would be the ones with a lot of immigrant population - for example CA.

NSCs area - which includes the midwest US, is typically not made up of immigrant majority zones ( save for a few big cities in it ).

I doubt if you can get the usual mass media to do anything about it - but hey why not try :)

max2k1,
Sorry, my experience in CA is different, for every small problem around.., they blame immigrants..., they do not bother to distinguish legal and illegal immigrants..., every immigrant. Media is prejudiced too. Local news media is no different from CNN. Fear of loosing job is everywhere.

Thsi is not realy fair if they change the rule every month and start approving new cases and say old will be later how can oe understand what is going on? no hard feeling for new filers who have been approved. BUt what is going on??

Agreed ...
All am trying to say is that, in those areas where immigrants are a big minority, the general public would most probably:
(a) either not care about what happens to GC process
(b) have an anti-immigrant sentiment.

So yeah, tough luck :(

Let it be

Don't be panic. They are our brothers. Let them get it. The Media does not have any interest in this. It may be unfair to you. I waited almost 3 years. I wasted another 2 years by starting the whole green card process again.

I think the INS may have given the 2004 cases to contractors or someone like that. Or they may have selected an area where there are not too many applicants. Concerning the time you don't have a question. You have to wait until you get the reply. The only thing you can do is that you can appeal if you have any problem.
