Change.gov Pres elect Barack Obama's transition website is taking questions on various issues subscribers are asked to either ask or vote for a question a few of the most popular questions are answered by either Obama or his staff. A question as regards to the long separation of Legal Permanent residents and their spouses and young children for periods of over 5 yrs even if you are not facing the problem thousands of LPRs are and if you are single chances are high that you will. Pliz register on the website type the word immigration in the search question panel and look for this question and vote for it

[Current immigration law separates law abiding, tax paying legal permanent residents (future citizens) from their spouses and young children for five or more years. Shouldn't we change this law and allow families to live together?"

You know how much "marriage for a GC" fraud would increase if this was allowed? how many people would defraud the system and marry just so they can bring someone, then divorce and then do it all over again...

This issue needs to be fixed, no kidding, but making it an immediate priority, would create a mess...

That's why there is a 2-year conditional period and the Stokes interview.

They should get rid of the sibling and adult children green cards, and use those numbers for LPR spouses and under-21 children and EB green cards.
